Ghana Education Service announces release of funds for perishable food items in senior high and technical schools to improve student welfare.


GES Announces Release of Feeding Funds

The (GES) has announced the release of outstanding funds for the procurement of perishable food items for Senior High and Technical Schools across the country.

In a statement dated April 20, 2026, GES Management indicated that the funds are intended to support school feeding operations and improve the welfare of students nationwide.


Distribution Process Underway

According to the Service, processes have already been initiated to ensure the efficient disbursement of the funds to beneficiary schools.

Authorities say the move is expected to address challenges related to food supply in second cycle institutions and enhance the smooth running of academic activities.


Accountability Measures Strengthened

GES further disclosed that monitoring and accountability mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that the funds are used strictly for their intended purpose.

The Service emphasized that proper oversight will be maintained to prevent misuse and to guarantee value for money in the procurement process.
